T minus 24 hours and counting!

It's almost time! Tomorrow we depart for Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. It's called Xela, for short. (pronounced shay-la) Below is a picture of the playground we will be installing at the orphanage. Last year, Red Dot installed another playground, designed for older children. This one will be geared toward the younger kids. I copied the following text from the Red Dot 100x website: http://www.reddot100x.com/ Our team will also be installing artificial grass and tables in an indoor patio area. And, of course, we will be providing a children's program each day involving crafts, games, music, and bible story time. We will throw a Tu Eres Especial (You are Special) carnival for the children to end the week. Our team will also spend a day in Guatemala City installing grass at the Buckner's babies home (which Red Dot helped start a few years ago) and we will also visit a boys group home that Red Dot is helping open for Buckner (older boys from the Xela orphanage will be brought to this home to live). We will conclude the week by spending a day in Antigua and a day at Tikal, the ancient Mayan pyramid city in northern Guatemala. The Red Dot 100X Jan. 09 Guatemala team will consist of: Tod Bush, Ted Bush, Chris Morgan, Coby Porter, David West, Steven Evers, Grant Gunderson, Kelby McCoy, Jason Dearing, Melissa Bush, Connie Allen, Holly Allen, Jeni Dillingham, Laura Morgan, Carrie King, Penny LaPlant, Kristen Brown, Rick Brown, Jennifer McCoy, Meagan Young, Giuli Mendoza, and Jouleen Castillo (Buckner trip coordinator) I highlighted in green my family members. Please pray that our team will serve and love the children we encounter well during our time there and that by the time we leave these children will understand how truly special to God they really are.
