Celebrating With The Parentals

I'm late in posting this...but better late than never! In May, we treated Mom and Dad to a night at Oak Creek Bed and Breakfast for their Anniversary/Mothers Day/Christmas/Birthday/etc.... (ok, maybe just their Anniversary.) Craig and Carolyn came down from Dallas and we embarked on the "mystery trip" that had Mom going crazy trying to figure out where she was going. She had NO idea that it was going to be so close! Dad played it more cool, even though I knew he was wondering... Oak Creek B&B is in Athens, but you'd think you're on a completely different planet. It's beautiful, remote, and surrounded by woods and hiking trails. The facility houses two quaint cottages, so Rick and I didn't spend the night. Good thing we've moved to Athens - We only had to drive about 10 miles to go home! We joined back with them the next morning for breakfast. Below are some pictures, in no particular order. Rick and Mom in a brawl... looked like someone was going into the water! Good thing Mom has a strong arm! Rick, aka "The Thinker," up high in a Deer Stand during a hike through the woods. Picnic for dinner consisted of chicken salad, deviled eggs, chips, and of course, OREOS. Mom packed it for us. It contributed to her confusion of where we were going... And her kids will never miss an opportunity for her vittles. And now for the series of "just a swinging..."

Relaxing around the campfire. We busted out the smores pretty quickly. Funny business... something about my family and funny faces. Craig and Carolyn - classy! Breakfast the next morning in the main house. It was fabulous... And my favorite picture of relaxing in the hammock!
